Farewell from Outgoing FSDF’s CEO Chris Sturman
“This is my last week of a nine and a half year term as FSDF Chief Executive. This marks the end of an involvement which has spanned twenty years in total since prior to my CEO term, I served as a Board Member representing the interests of West Kent Cold Storage and then as an Associate member before taking over the role from my predecessor John Hutchings.
I want to thank all the FSDF members for allowing me to enjoy my time immensely. My term of office has been the culmination of 50 years in the world of logistics and supply chain. I have worked hard to serve the best interests of the Federation and our members and to raise the profile of FSDF and the Industry with politicians, academia, other trade bodies and NGOs, as well as the wider food and drink industry
The Federation is in good heart, in a quickly changing world, politically, environmentally and from a business perspective, particularly around Brexit and possible changes which may result. I wish my successor Shane Brennan every success in serving FSDF members, in leading the Federation forward, to grow the membership further, through demonstrating increased relevance and value, and building on sound financial foundations. FSDF has the benefit of a wide range of loyal members who see the value of services and of involvement in the activities the Federation provides.
I also want to thank the FSDF team who have worked hard with me in developing and delivering a wide range of services, in producing conferences, seminars and other learning and networking opportunities and helping members with information and advice relevant to their business.
Thanks again and best wishes for the prosperity of your businesses in whichever food sectors you operate.”
All at FSDF associate member company Marshall Fleet Solutions wish Chris a well earned and deserving retirement. Good luck for the future!
