Well last week’s #ThrowbackThursday trip back in time certainly proved that everyone was ‘Lovin’ it!’
We had the best response yet to any image that we have posted on the website and social media in all the time we have been running our campaign for #ThrowbackThursday.
So that creates a challenge for us here at MFS. How do we better last week’s photo?
Today, we have a very different image to share with everyone.
We go back to the early 80’s for this historic Leyland T45 Freighter 16t rigid for Marshall Hire with its Thermo King diesel over cab system.
So who know more about the TK fridge system and also the background to Marshall Hire? Please let us know.
As for the Leyland T45Freighter, we know it was Leyland’s bright new hope of the 1980’s, combining two previous ranges (Clydesdale and Boxer) into one brand. The Freighter ushered in unheard of levels of comfort, practicality and driver appeal and at up to 18tonnes GVW it became the most economical truck in its class, enjoying healthy sales after this point. As the early 1990s arrived, the Freighter name was dropped as part of Leyland-DAF policy of giving trucks numerical badges. The Freighter became known simply as the Leyland-DAF 50-series, which eventually ceased production in 1994.
